About Us

The difference between psychiatry and psychology

These two specialities work closely in conjunction with each other and patients are often referred from psychiatrists to psychologists and vice versa.

Our psychiatrists are Fellows of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry and our psychologists are all Registered Clinical Psychologists.

Our Services

  • Psychiatrists

Psychiatrists are medical doctors first who have furthered their studies and specialized in psychiatry.

Their expertise lies in diagnosing and treating symptoms and illnesses relating to mental health. They take into account the medical side of health and are able to prescribe medications if required.

In most cases you will be referred to a psychiatrist by a general practitioner or other doctor who feels that you require more specific assessment and/ or treatment.

  • Psychologists

    Psychologists are non-medical specialists.
